P-rose is dead, Slouch is alive.
First off, if you have no idea who P-Rose is, that is ayy- ok because he is long gone. (Figuratively speaking of course.) Local, Denver-Based rapper, slouch, is alive & well and I highly suggest you take the time out of your day to check him out. If you did know who P-Rose was, then prepare yourself for a different style and sound. Slouch's new music is wavy as hell and you do not want to miss out on his debut EP release, LEMON WATER.
Lemon Water is a seven-track EP produced by Denver producer, Slackbeatz. The EP covers a variety of slouch's subconscious issues, mainly focused on the changes slouch has faced as an artist and how he is trying to improve and grow in more ways than one. The sound of his latest music, I would describe as wavy as hell. In other words, the music is chill and relaxing with soft melodies, a touch of bass, and a little bit of hype added to bring it all together. A track that stood out the most to me off the EP was the song “Galaxy,” mainly because of the lyrical content and booming beat. "Galaxy" explores slouch and his journey trying to adjust and go for more in life;
he wants more than earth, slouch “wants the whole galaxy.”
Slouch draws influence from a variety of artist like J Cole, Mac Miller, Kanye West, Schoolboy Q, Lil Yachty, Kendrick Lamar and The Notorious B.I.G. It should be pretty clear, with influences like that, slouch’s music will be hype and very very wavy, with more layers than one might imagine.
Do your ears a favor and give slouch a try.
Check out the Lemon Water EP and keep your eye on the name slouch because who knows, he might end up with the galaxy when its all said and done.
The Lemon Water EP is available now on all streaming services including Apple Music & for purchase on iTunes.
