Compound Sound: Vibrant Music Festival in the Plains of Wyoming

October 12, 2019

A crew of Denver’s finest has united to bring a new, independent music festival to the Front Range this August: COMPOUND SOUND. Located on a private ranch near Carpenter, Wyoming (2 hour drive from Denver), Compound Sound is bringing the best talent from Colorado music scene to the prairie for two days of music, camping, and vibes. The festival will feature over 30 acts playing more than 40 hours of music from August 24 through August 26.

The Compound Sound location has been a haven for music festivals for nearly a decade. The idea for the current iteration of the festival was spawned late-night around a lazy susan by members of Denver jamtronica bands Kaleid and Wabakinoset.

The bands teamed up with local promoters Intimate Infinite and Boogie Groove Entertainment to help bring Compound Sound to fruition again here in 2018. “Since 2009 when we first set-up a stage and brought a PA system out to the prairie, we’ve known that something very unique and magical occurs on these grounds,” said Matt Schulz of Intimate Infinite, the festival’s co-founder and promoter.

“Here in 2018, we finally have the opportunity to open this experience up to the vibrant Colorado music community and we couldn’t be more excited to share it! Trust me when I say this, from nine years of experience up there the freedom one can appreciate at Compound Sound is unlike any other event in the world.”

Compound Sound will feature a single stage of nearly constant music, food trucks, vendors, yoga and flow workshops, and a healing village among other exciting events. Headliners include psychedelic rock power trio Cycles, eclectic EDM producer Lucid Vision, electro/funk/hip-hop group Tnertle, and electro-bass band Spectacle. Ticket availability ranges from a 1-day pass to a weekend pass and can be purchased HERE.

Intimate Infinite is a sturdy ship on its maiden voyage. Compound Sound will be the promoter’s first official event (although involvement began with the first Compound Sound in 2009), and Intimate Infinite plans to continue organizing the music festival for years to come.

The new kids on the block of the Denver promoter scene, Boogie Groove has taken the Mile-High City by storm. Since its humble beginnings in 2015 throwing parties in Denver venues like The Fox Theatre, Tony P’s, Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox, Globe Hall, The Walnut Room, and Knew Conscious Art Gallery, the company has purchased its own venue: Your Mom’s House (formerly Pearl’s) on the corner of 13th and Pearl St in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. A true believer of giving everyone a chance, all genres of music and people are welcome here at Boogie Groove & Your Mom’s House.
