You've probably heard the name, seen the logo around town, or listened to one of the bands they work with, but do you really know Nimbleslick Entertainment? During a chat with Nimbleslick Partner & Agent, David Limentani, I got the rundown on why the entertainment powerhouse chose Colorado as their second headquarters.
Nimbleslick Entertainment, has been making a name for themselves in Colorado's scene for years offering booking, management, and talent buying. The agency expanded into their newest residence just blocks from Denver's own Santa Fe Arts District. Nimbleslick spent its first few years in good ol' Athens, GA before deciding to head west. Turns out Colorado had the biggest selling points for the company's expansion: untapped market of talent & ever-growing concert scene, plus the fact that Denver is one of the biggest regional stops for international artists on major tours. Added bonus: Mountains & snow.
"Locals want to get off the couch and find the next big thing."
We've only a couple of big-name booking agencies operating within Colorado. Nimbleslick Entertainment boasts a 30+ artist roster, all handled by a core team of five agents with over 40+ years combined experience in the industry. Keeping the agency small and closely-knit has allowed Nimbleslick to flourish over the years. The agency continues to thrive, branching out of their rock-based, jam band focused roster to include more acts spanning from Chill-Hop to Americana. The hot ticket right now? Reggae & Ska. Bet you didn't see that coming, did you?
David shared details on how the booking agency has been actively working with the University of Colorado Denver, offering internships for students already involved in the entertainment industry. He's found success thanks to CU Denver's Music and Entertainment Industry Studies. The program is full of the like-minded, determined students he's looking for, just ask CU intern turned full-time agent, Brandon Lorenzo!
The boutique booking agency is constantly on the move, and while there aren't huge plans for the future (that David can speak of), you can bet you'll be seeing and hearing more from Nimbleslick artists.
Denver-based indie folk band, AVENHART, plays The Bluebird Theater on Wednesday, November 7th featuring The Lonesome Days and The Heartstring Hunters.
